East Tennessee Clean Fuels operates with the physical, in-kind, and fiscal support of the Institute for a Secure & Sustainable Environment (ISSE). ISSE is a part of the TICKLE College of Engineering, a college of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. ISSE develops policies, technologies, and educational programs that respond to pressing environmental and security issues. ISSE’s centers, programs, and initiatives cut across multiple disciplines, engage the university’s research faculty and staff, and address many issues that affect sustainability. ISSE houses the Tennessee Water Resource Research Center, Appalachian Leadership Institute, ISSE Climate Change Initiative, DriveElectricTN, East Tennessee Clean Fuels, FEWSUS.

Knoxville Utilities Board – KUB – was created by an amendment to the Knoxville City Charter in 1939. As an independent agency of the City of Knoxville, KUB provides electric, fiber, natural gas, water, and wastewater services to more than 501,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. KUB leads the way with EVSE incentives in the area and with DCFC installations, and owns and operates Knoxville’s only public CNG station. To boot, they are long-time leaders in alt-fuel use, and have been incredible partners to ETCF and the greater alt-fuel community over the last 20+ years.
