On behalf of Tennessee Clean Fuels, we would like to recognize our members, the City of Knoxville and the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) for making NAFA’s 100 Best Fleets list for 2022!
The City of Knoxville is a national leader in sustainability and is committed to fighting climate change by focusing on major areas in the city to decrease emissions. Their goal is to create a city “where the economy, environment, and community can thrive today and in the future.”
They work with government boards and councils to ensure the economic and environmental success of Knoxville.
KUB is Knoxville’s local utility and has successfully implemented efforts within their company to provide “a greener future.”
They specifically offer a KUB green fleet, vegetation management, renewable energy at KUB facilities, water quality and conservation and biosolids which are used to keep solid waste out of landfills.
NAFA’s best fleets have been awarded each year since 2005 and serve as a way to identify and encourage “the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry.” They also serve to recognize “peak-performing fleet operations” in North, Central, or South America to businesses that foster pride in the industry and encourage others to follow in their environmental efforts.
We are proud to state that the City of Knoxville ranked 51st on the list and KUB ranked 64th out of 100 fleets.
We are honored to congratulate both of these entities for their accomplishments regarding alternative fuels usage and environmental impacts within their community.
